B. Dolan – House of Bees Vol 1 (Mixed by Buddy Peace)

bdolan_houseofbeesvol1_coverB. Dolan is a spoken work artist, rapper and activist, who most recent release is a mix-tape available for free from Strange Famous.

Considering he arose from the same roots as and co-founded Knowmore.org with Sage Francis, as well as being signed to Sage’s label, Strange Famous, Dolan does sound similar to Francis and the production he chooses is similar, however, he does have his own voice and sound. Dolan has the ability to switch from the braggadocios to addressing serious tops to comedy. He tackles corporate responsibility on the track “Lucifer”, where he calls out the former CEO of Union Carbide over the environmental disaster at Bhopal, India in 1984. He goes the comedy route on several tracks, such as the I Need Love styled Vin Diesel track or the Justin Timberlake spoken word dis.

This is an excellent release and has left me wanting to hear more.  I suggest you check it out as well.
