2011

Now that 2010 is over, its time to look forward to 2011.  Here is some of the things I am looking for:

These all have release dates in January:

  • Earth –  Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light
  • Social Distortion – Hard Times & Nursery Rhymes
  • Cake – Showroom Of Compassion
  • Queens Of The Stone Age –  Queens Of The Stone Age  (reissue)
  • Negura Bunget – Om
  • Bob Marley  – Live Forever: The Stanley Theatre
  • Pharoahe Monch – W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) (Not expecting it to be good, but I am looking forward to hearing it.)
  • Gang of Four – Content
  • Gil Scott-Heron and Jamie xx  – We’re New Here
  • Wino – Adrift (Vinyl)

I’m hoping that we’ll see something in 2011 from these guys:

  • Lamb of God – Chris Adler indicated that they would be heading into the studio soon and hopefully release something towards the end of the year.
  • Mastodon – Haven’t heard anything, I would just really like to hear something new from them.
  • Rage Against the Machine – Highly unlikely but it would be a nice.
  • TOOL – I’ve heard that they are working on stuff but as we all know, TOOL is unpredictable.
  • System of a Down – No news, but they’re touring Europe in early 2011, so maybe we’ll see something, at the very least, hopefully they’ll do a show in LA.
  • Munly – Part two of his Petr & the Wulf trilogy.  Not sure when it will be release but lets hope it sees the light of day in 2011
  • Aesop Rock –  Its time he releases a new record.
  • Brother Ali – I know a new record came out in 2010, so 2011 is unlikely, but a boy can dream can’t he.
  • Isis – I know the disbanded but I know they have a few songs laying around, so maybe we’ll see something.
