OFF! – Southern Lord 7”

Hopefully I don’t have to explain to any of you just who OFF! Is, but if for some reason you don’t know them, do yourself a favor and Google them. Right now, before you read any further!

The bands most recent release comes to us from Southern Lord as a 7” and was originally available in the sold out limited blue vinyl “Vans” cover edition and the red vinyl edition with the “LA Riots” cover, which as I write this is still available from Southern Lord.  The release features two songs, both covers.  The first is of the Eugene McDaniels/Les McCann classic “Compared to What”, which we also recently heard covered on the John Legend/Roots collaboration last year. The other song is a cover of “Rotten Apple,” a garage rock classic originally by a band called ID.

Both songs are pretty quick, about a minute and half each, both are fast and full of rage, and, most importantly, both songs are fun and exciting. This is just good, angry music.

That’s about all I can really say, other then to tell you to point your browser to Southern Lord and order this right now, even if you don’t have a turntable, go order this and then go buy a turntable.
