Quick Review: Cop Problem – Cop Problem

You have to love the name…you know exactly what you’re getting: politically fueled blistering hardcore. This is the and’s debut 7” and it’s a great introduction to the bands d-beat infused punk. The EP opens with “Monument”, which kicks things off with a slower, kinda sludgy intro before turning it up a notch, pummeling you in the face with the rage filled vocals of front-woman Deborah Cohen, whose harsh vocals really make this album an intense listen. The next two tracks continue in a similar vein, all with excellent musicianship and songwriting. While this may be nothing we haven’t heard before, it’s still an excellent debut, one that shows promise for this young band.
